QA Analyst

The QA Analyst releases high quality software through the completion of efficient and effective testing activity. Working with other members of the QA team, and in close collaboration with the software development team, they will be responsible for the planning, preparation and running of test plans and scripts.

Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Analyst will ensure that Alemba releases high quality software through the completion of efficient and effective testing activity. Working with other members of the QA team, and in close collaboration with the software development team, they will be responsible for the planning, preparation and running of test plans and scripts in line with company guidelines and marketplace standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare test plans and test scripts for each software component to demonstrate the business condition under test and the anticipated results
  • Manage the execution of testing, including maintaining high quality and accuracy throughout
  • Identification and creation of test data
  • Manage document software defects using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers and the QA Manager
  • Prepare and maintain relevant test documentation
  • Identify and resolve any testing risks and issues, escalating where appropriate
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and quality requirements defined by Alemba as well as those recognized as industry standards in our marketplace
  • Provide feedback to the development team, the QA Manager and the VP Engineering as appropriate
  • Liaise with account managers and projects managers on the creation of estimates for project scheduling when requested
  • Collaborate with developers and managers to clarify technical issues
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the QA function

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Experience of testing in a structured environment required
  • Experience of working with development teams in a commercial software context required
  • ISEB / ISTQB certified Tester Foundation Level or equivalent experience required
  • Proven experience working within an ITIL or ITSM environment would be considered advantageous
  • Experience of testing within an Agile project methodology would be considered desirable
