I have been administering ASM (and it's previous iterations: Ionix, VSM, vFire) for about the last 10 years. It has had it's challenges, particularly with the big upgrade from vFire(v9) to ASM(v10), but Alemba have always been upfront about any features which may have dropped off due to the technology change, and their support team have always been pro-active in making sure we had workarounds or fixes for any issues we've had.
