April Events Update: HDI and SDI 2016

Every year, the Alemba team attends as many industry conferences and exhibitions as possible. Industry events such as trade shows, conferences and exhibitions not only allow us to network and collaborate with peers in a face-to-face setting, but also help us to keep up to date with the latest industry trends and developments.

We were pleased to attend the HDI conference and Expo for the second year running. We find that the attendees are consistently engaging and this US event is a key part of our global events calendar.

What to do when two of the industry’s most exciting events happen to fall on the same dates? Well, shuffle some schedules and attend both, of course!

It took a few long-haul flights and some military precision planning, but Alemba visited both the HDI 2016 Conference and Expo and SDI16 Service Desk Conference in April.

HDI 2016 took place on April 12-15 in Orlando, Florida and drew more than 2400 attendees. This is the second consecutive year Alemba exhibited at this event. No longer the new kids on the block, we were happy to be able to catch up with some familiar faces. We received extremely positive feedback from delegates and vendors alike, and were particularly impressed by attendees’ engaged and enthusiastic responses to vFire.

Across the pond in Birmingham, SDI16 was also in full swing. This two day conference is dedicated to the service desk industry an offered an excellent line-up of speakers, educational workshops and plenty of social and networking opportunities.

The SDI conference also plays host to the glamorous gala dinner of the Annual IT Service & Support Awards. The Alemba team donned tuxes (and an LBD) to cheer on customer Barnardo’s, nominee for the SDI Small Service Desk of the Year Award.

“The SDI conference was a really great opportunity for us to engage with existing customers and showcase vFire to potential new clients,” says Alemba’s Global Head of Marketing, Mita Morris. “We received excellent feedback and it was fantastic to see our customer Barnardo’s shortlisted as a finalist in the small service desk category. ”

Alemba’s next industry event is SITS 2016, taking place on 8-9 June 2016 in Olympia London.
